I am selling my CAT JL-5 tube amp using Black Path cap technology. As a new CAT product it fits the circuitry of earlier, larger JL’s onto a smaller chassis. This is because of the use of high current 8 KT-120 tubes, whereas the circuitry is practically the same as their top-of-the-line amp THE STATEMENT. Black Path caps are used in the massive, well-isolated power supply using an amorphous alloy core, virtually eliminating power noise (power conditioner not needed) with negligible hysteresis. The tubes are used in triode mode with auto biasing to eliminate grain and promote a very natural musical signal. As a tube amp this is a “drive anything” powerhouse, delivering 120 watts into both 4 and 8 ohm outputs.
It is important to note that this amp has less than 6 hours use, making it virtually new.
